“I found it!” I screamed with excitement, our 4 hour drive for us too see snow for the first time payed off. We looked across the sub-zero water lake to the beautiful highlands of Scotland. We drove up the hill with a bobsled. 5 rules of netiquette

This is my 4th blog post about netiquette

Netiquette is using etiquette on the internet so the reader doesn’t misunderstand.

This is 5 rules for netiquette

  1. All caps usually means the person is yelling. It can be rude and very annoying
  2. Avoid sarcasm. As it is hard to tell if you are being serious because they cant hear your expression
  3. Do not spam. As it is annoying and can slow down the computer from send messages too quickly.
  4. Respect other’s privacy. Don’t ask for other people’s private information as it is rude and can ruin your life, also don’t give away your information
  5. Use words in brackets to show a state of mind. This one is hard to explain, you say a sentence and say how it hows you feels in a comedic way.

#Game on Video

After watching the #Game On video I have realised what computer and internet use can do.

A girl gave her friend her password for her page. Someone had posted an embarrassing picture of them and the she is mad with her friend. Her friend claims that she didn’t post the pictures. The girls dad gets into it and a couple days later, they find out that another friend posted the picture because she thought it was funny. This shows that don’t post pictures of your friends without their permission, as it could ruin a friendship.

At school the two boys kept falling asleep in class. Both of the boys would talk back to their parents and one wasn’t hanging out with one of their friends in weeks. One of the boys aunties had to come in to see the principle and the boy about his problem.

The last example is the kid who bought an app which said it was free. A few days later he was getting bills on the app but didn’t bother to delete or pay the fees. This shows that you shouldn’t put in credit card details without permission.

I believe the example being shown in this video is, if you are going on the internet, be careful about what you do.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Internet

The internet is an amazing place. Many things have come from it. Some are good and some are bad. This will be about the advantages and disadvantages of the internet.

The internet can ruin people’s lives. For example, someone posts an embarrassing photo, people can say nasty comments, could try and track you down because that photo will always be there. Even if you delete it, it will come back and people will screenshot it. Another Disadvantage is cyber bullying. A lot of people have died from constantly being called bad names and witnessing harsh comments. People could add you on your contacts and constantly messaging you horrible comments.

An advantage of the internet is research. Any student would use the internet for research and could get amazing marks. Research is much more efficient then researching in books. Another advantage if making money. On YouTube people make millions a year just for recording themselves on camera. A lot of You tubers get sponsors and play ads at the start of their videos. They also make money off views. YouTube is an amazing job because you make money off doing what makes you happy and make your decisions. Although YouTube videos take hours to make, the time will be worth it because your will make thousands.

To sum it all up, if you make the choice to go onto the internet, make wise decisions about what you show because it could ruin or change your life
